Session #1 of the Sketch Comedy Writing Program is SOLD OUT. Please email renoimprov@gmail.com to be notified when future classes open up.

The Sketch Comedy Writing Program at Reno Improv consists of four 8-week sessions and culminates with a full-length sketch comedy revue written by the students and performed by six actors (three men and three women) within the community.

The first session will cover an intro to comedy writing, comedic voice, character development, the 5-point structure, point of view, tension, stakes, and more. Sessions #2 and #3 will delve into the various forms of sketch, blackouts, songs, and rewriting, and Session #4 will be the production process, which will teach students how to put on a full-length sketch comedy revue. To get the most out of the program, please be prepared to commit to all four sessions.

We will meet at 695 Willow St. (corner of Wells Ave. and Willow St.), Sundays from 3 – 6 p.m. This class is offered to adults 18 and over and will be limited to 8 students. The cost is $200.
