Level IV: The Harold

Continue your exploration of long form improv comedy in Reno Improv’s Level IV: The Harold. Developed by Del Close and brought to fruition through his collaboration with Charna Halpern, The Harold has become the signature form at iO Chicago and is performed at improv theaters around the world. Training in The Harold will help you understand advanced scene work through time dashes, character jumps and the exploration of themes throughout a long form performance piece. In this class, you will learn how to create group games and use callbacks through the use of pattern recognition.

Improv training promotes self confidence – both on stage and in professional and public speaking endeavors. In Level IV, you’ll continue to develop valuable listening skills, practice exuding composure in the face of uncertainty, and become a stronger collaborator in group settings. Most importantly, you will practice saying “yes” to new ideas and experiences.

Class starts Monday, August 26 and runs through October 21 (there will be no class on Monday, September 2). The class will culminate with a student showcase. We will meet at 695 Willow St. (corner of Wells Ave. and Willow St.), Mondays from 6 – 8:30 p.m. This class is offered to adults 18 and over and will be limited to 14 people. The cost is $175. You can pay ahead of time via PayPal at paypal.me/renoimprov (Reno Improv owner Ben Craig is the payee). You can also pay with cash, credit/debit card or check the first day of class.
